About Me
Hi my name is Shawn Lozada and I am a senior at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy. I have gone to this school for two years now, my junior and senior year. As a Freshman, I went to New Britain High School and then had to move to Newington, which also meant I had to transfer to Newington High School because of issues in my family. After being in Newington High School for a year I was accepted into Sport and Medical Sciences Academy in which I then moved to Farmington where I live now. I take pride in how my grades are because they are the reason why I have been accepted into colleges and are also the reason why I am able to play football. Without exceptional grades I wouldn't be able to play football, so I do my best to keep my grades up to par. I have been playing football for nine years now and plan to continue during college. I have a great passion for football, as a TigerHawk we would play at Dillon Stadium. In my years of playing football the field is not very well kept, which is how I got the idea for this project.
Mission Statement
I want to continue my physical fitness and playing football. I wish to go to college to pursue Exercise and Sports Science and play football; this way I can learn more about physical fitness to make myself better when it comes to training and help educate others on how their physical fitness ideas can be improved. I want to play college football because I love the sport and college could be my final opportunity to play with a team and be a part of an established league. Football and physical fitness are strong points that I have in my life because I am good at them and they are entertaining to me. I would like to get as good as I can when it comes to physical strength because I like the idea of being better than others at lifting, but I do like to give advice to others about how they could be better.
About My Project
As a football player I do pay a lot of attention to my home field, Dillon Stadium. It is the field I play at the most, and as a player I have noticed some flaws. Some of the things that continued to bother me were the scoreboard, the field conditions, and the locker rooms. It was about mid-season when I decided to make a difference in the community by attempting to make Dillon Stadium better. After some brainstorming, I chose to represent the coaches who play at Dillon Stadium because it is the home field to a handful of schools. With all these schools playing on the same field week after week, and year after year, the Stadium has become overused. I suggested to the Hartford Parks Department on how the Stadium can be improved. Keeping a reasonable budget in mind, I bring up some things that can be achievable by the Hartford Parks Department.
